Video Production Distractions

10. Soda machines. Their humming switches into high gear, sparking conversations on how to unplug them.

9. Trains. They are at their longest and loudest when shooting video.

8. Horns. When concentrating on the task at hand, few sudden and sharp noises make you jump more.

7. Garbage trucks. Their drivers are either desperate to appear on video or kind enough to ensure our areas are trash free.

6. Customers. Business spikes when shooting videos.

5. Phones ringing. Everybody calls and bizarre ringtones embarrass those who otherwise portray themselves as strictly professional.

4. Other employees. Despite managers sending out office wide messages requesting co-workers stay out of the backgrounds of interviews, employees arrange water cooler discussions within view of the lens.

3. Music. Somewhere, a cubicle is presenting a personal concert.

2. Airplanes/helicopters. They only fly over during the best sound bites.

1. Landscapers. Their schedules coincide with video shoots. As with garbage trucks, someone leaks them our schedules.
