A cacophony of posts drown my thoughts and leaves me with a migraine of messages, a hashtag hangover without a cure. Shouts from digitized rooftops jockey for attention, “Look at me! Look at me!” Saturated networks drip with blogs, wisdom, stupidity, conference promotions, lounge lizard news teases, critics blaring snarky complaints, corporate fallouts and tides of consumer wrath. The noise wails through these virtual swap meets, bloated with greasy sales pitches disguised as white papers and group discussions. The swell of unanswered phone calls and emails intensifies. Connections and friendships falter. The scents of trust and authenticity hover faintly in the air.
