Your organization decides, due to COVID-19, it needs a high-level, virtual tour of a new location or its current facilities. Without too much flash, your goal is to highlight certain features and share important history. Before you start shooting, here are nine questions to ask to help build a virtual tour video that best positions your organization for success.
- Have you written a script?
- Have you discussed a creative approach?
- How long will the video be?
- Will the video show empty spaces or people working and interacting in those spaces? What are the “strengths” of those spaces?
- Will the video tour include a voiceover and will someone appear on-camera, playing the role of “tour guide” throughout the video?
- Will the video include any sit-down interviews?
- Will the tour include drone footage?
- Are there ways to include additional movement to ensure the video is interesting for people to view?
- Will the virtual tour include previously-shot still photography?
- Will the tour include any motion graphics or animation to help communicate statistics, share complex information or transition from one segment of the video to the next?
- Will the video include background music?
The concept of a virtual tour video might sound simple. However, other organizations are sharing similar videos and are competing every day for viewers. Be better and make the most of the opportunity.
